Christening’s

Just got back from the covering the Christening of the first child of one of our couples from a couple of years ago. A lovely ceremony in a packed St Marks. Also another of our couples were there as guests with their new addition to the family. I am so fortunate to be invited into these families and see them grow.

Just a quick change then off out to the Regular Joes at the Miramar. I might learn to dance, I might just enjoy the superb music. I will take some photos.

What a great job I have!

Poor old blog!

With our main website now tidy I still have a back log of Weddings and Events to Blog that I promised to do back in October!
With the cold and possible snow coming I’ll blog some of the warmer sunny summer weddings of last year over the weekend and next week to remind us of when it was warm!

Jodie and Clive

Rather than Blog the Weddings we have covered in the Summer, in the Summer, I thought I would wait until the Winter when we might all need to remember when it was warm and sunny. I also thought it would be a bit quieter in the Winter and I could take a bit more time but fortunately that hasn’t happened and we are still rushed of our feet !

So back to a lovely warm summers day in July.

Todays Wedding was going to involve some travel. First stop was to meet the Bride during her preparation in Stalbridge.

After introducing the second photographer I left the ladies to it and travelled back to meet the Groom at the gorgeous RHS Gardens at Lawsbrook, Shillingstone. The Groom was also preparing the Reception Marquee and the signage to guide the guests to the venue.

Once all was ready we took some small group Photos in the Gardens before heading off to the Guildhall, Poole.

The Bride also departed from Stalbridge.

We took some photos of the Groom and the guests whilst awaiting the arrival of the Bride.

Even travelling from Stalbridge Jodie was on time and looked stunning.

There then followed a lovely ceremony in the beautiful Guildhall, Poole.

One of the advantages in the Guildhall are the Verandas where photographers are allowed to take photos from a high view point.

After the ceremony we covered the very well attended Group shots on the staircase.

And of course the confetti shots.

We then set off for Lake Drive in Hamworthy for some Bridal Party shots by the sea.

From here we then travelled back to the Lovely Lawsbrook Gardens for the reception.

The guests then sat down for the speeches and cutting of the cake.

We left them to their superb meal and could a shaded bench on which we collapsed and started backing up.

After the Wedding Breakfast we covered a number of Group shots at various locations in the very large gardens and then found some time for the Bridal modelling before the Evenings festivities began.

The Evening included a very lively Barn dance with almost total participation and Our PhotoGuestbook service.

We left them all partying into the night at about 10.00pm.

A superb day and all our best wishes to Jodie and Clive in their married life together.

Chaffeymoor Grange

One of the really nice things about Internet bookings I find is the lovely surprise they can provide and our booking for the Wedding of Karen and David was no exception.

The booking was not unusual for us being completed on the Internet without ever meeting the couple and even the venue was new to us. The Wedding venue was to be Chaffeymoor Grange in north Dorset. What a superb picturesque venue it is.

Chaffeymoor Grange

I arrived over an hour early to have a look around and what a venue. Karen and David had hired the whole venue so their friends and relatives could also have a weekend break and I met them enjoying a buffet lunch before getting changed. Karen did not wish to have Prep shots but when I went upstairs to meet her before the Ceremony she looked absolutely stunning in the large well lit room. We did a few pre-ceremony shots including some with her children before proceeding downstairs to a beautiful Ceremony room.

Karen

A lovely, relaxed ceremony commenced in this wonderful setting. After the Wedding Ceremony I always allow a few minutes for drinks and congratulations before proceeding to the formal group shots. After the group shots I could really enjoy myself. A stunning couple, lovely family and fabulous venue to work with and even and interesting sky !

First Kiss

We proceeded to a few pre selected locations for some relaxed Bridal Modelling.

Off we go a modelling.

With a lake and island hideaway it was wonderful, could of spent hours there.

Island Hideaway

Hopefully we will get a chance to revisit this superb Venue again one day.

All our best for your future together to Karen and David and thank you to yourselves and your great guests for  a lovely day.

A Timeless setting.

Leweston School Leavers Ball

I haven’t blogged for a while due to too much work fortunately, but to try and catch up a bit here are a few images from our annual visit to Leweston School, near Sherborne for their Leavers Ball.

We arrived at 5.00pm to set up. The Event starts at 7.30pm but I like plenty of time to set-up. We were therefore ready with plenty of time to spare so we took a couple of images of us ! Team of three for this one. Two for the studio, one for the Reportage. We each do a stint in each role to keep it fun for us.

The school is a lovely venue with plenty of room and this year even a Fairground Merry go Round appeared.

The enthusiasm for photos at Leweston is always excellent and again there was no hesitation to jump onto the set for some posed photos.

The Ladies and their guests then moved to the Marquee for the meal. After the meal the set became rather more lively. The guests subsequently party’ed through to the early hours.

We, of course, covered the entire event but at 2.00am decided perhaps photography was no longer needed as the guests continued dancing.

Thank you to all the staff and guests for a wonderful evening. Good Luck to all the ladies leaving the school for their future lives and careers.

Living the Dream!

Well what can I say ?

A superb party Friday night.

A glorious Dorset Wedding including the lovely St Giles, Chideock, The beautiful and secluded Norburton Hall and the scenery and excellent facilities at Freshwater Holiday Park. Our new style Photo Guestbook being yet another great success.

Then today two excellent Recce’s for future Weddings at Holten Lee and a second Visit to The Chine, Bournemouth.

So for next week editing yesterday, designing the latest order for one of our superb Jorgensen Albums and getting ready for an epic weekend again:

Two days at the Battistinis California Dreamin’ Expo at the BIC. We will be providing our onsite print service for some rather special photos on the Battistini’s stand. But then, Saturday night, the Epic Battistini’s Retro Revival.  The South Coast’s most exciting 1940s/50s lifestyle & live music event. Probably going to be the biggest and best yet ! including the amazing JUMP JIVE & SWING BAND “THE DING DONG DADDIOS.

Tomorrow I may wake up or am I livin’ the Dream ?

The Regular Joes and the Jive Aces at the Verwood Hub.

We had been invited to cover the Regular Joes and the Jive Aces at the Verwood Hub. We had covered a number of events at this excellent venue but nothing like this as we were about to find out!

We arrived early to set-up before the guest arrived. The Verwood Hub is an excellent venue with plenty of space and vantage points. The Staff were extremely helpful allowing us access to  where we needed.

The evening started with a Dance class from Cara and Martin for which there was no shortage of participants.

Dance Class begins

Following the class The Regular Joes provided the ‘warm up’ for the Jive Aces. There was nothing warm up about it though, everyone was on their feet and dancing.

After this superb set the Regular Joes took a break and the latest video from the Jive Aces was shown, Bring me Sunshine. It served as an excellent introduction.

The Jive Aces entered from the rear of the venue, through the now seated guests and then climbed onto the stage, playing as they went.

An amazing performance was then provided including an surprise entrance from Cara Bowen.

A phenomenal display of how to play the keyboard with your feet off the ground was given by the Professor, Vince Hurley.

Of course there was no holding back from the audience and the dance floor was packed. We have covered dances before but even with all that experience I nearly got run over on a few occasions!

There was a high speed Charleston and a  very fast Polka amongst the many dances enjoyed.

No holds barred dancing.

After all this fantastic entertainment there was predictably a huge out cry for an encore and as though we hadn’t had enough superb music for the evening we were treated to both the Regular Joes and the Jive Aces playing together. Amazing.

An absolutely wonderful evening. Thank you to the Regular Joes, The Jive Aces and the guests. Phenomenal !
