Verwood Winter Wedding

On a very cold day we set off for Verwood. No snow this time but it was very Cold. We met Sarah-Louise and her sister Lisa-Anne at there parents home.

Preparation begins

I left my second photographer with the girls and headed off to meet the Groom and his entourage in a local hostelry.

The Monmouth Ash Pub was lovely and warm with a log fire burning.

After some ‘refreshment’ and liquid courage we headed off for the United Reform Church. It was a short but cold walk !

The Bride and her father duly arrived and the ceremony began.

The Ceremony was very enjoyable with only a couple of tears.

Look after Her well !

After the formal Group Shots we all headed off to the Crane Valley Golf course for the reception. Before the Wedding Breakfast and before we lost the light we headed back out into the cold with a very brave Bride to do some Bridal Portraiture.

After the Wedding Breakfast and speeches a very lively evening ensued.

We also provided our Photo Guest book service which seemed to be enjoyed by all.

Katie and Dwayne

A belated Blog post but a stunning wedding. Katie and Dwayne at St Peters Church, Ashley Cross in deep snow.

"The day started with a little concern!"

The day started with just a little area of concern, Deep Snow ! I made it to the Brides house to find it deserted. I used the time to take some HDR snow scenes and then Katie and her Mum arrived. Apparently they were delayed at the Hairstylists as the poor girl had crashed her car in the snow and had to walk the remainder of the way to the Salon. My second photographer duly arrived with them all safely inside I made my way to St Peters to park up and then walk back to the Grooms house.

After slipping and sliding I made it to the Grooms friends house to find them sitting comfortably enjoying a “full english”.

After a welcomed cup of tea we then relocated back across the path to the Grooms house for them to get ready.

When all were prepared we set off for the walk to St Peters in the snow.

Groom En-Route

I covered the arrival of the guests at snow covered church where of course they were keen to get inside quickly.

Subsequently the Bridesmaids arrived and the Bride. A very quick couple of formal shots and then into the relative warmth.

It was cold but it didn't show !

All arrived safely at the Church

A very enjoyable ceremony then proceeded with a volunteer pianist taking the place of the Organist who couldn’t make it through the snow.

HDR one of our new tools

Due to the weather the Bridal car prefer not to attempt our planned Bridal photoshoot so after the group shots and a couple by the Bournemouth Echo photographer we headed to the Allendale centre in Wimborne for the reception. Fortunately Katie and Dwayne were keen to do some Bridal modelling which we covered in the grounds of the centre.

After the Wedding Breakfast and speech’s a very active reception proceeded with queues forming at our new format Photo Guestbook service and almost total participation in the dancing to the Disco.

Sort of line dancing!

Theres a performer in everyone!

A superb and challenging day made wonderful by superb guests, friends, family and a Happy couple who were a joy every step of the day.

All our best for your future together to Katie and Dwayne and a big thank you to everyone involved for such a fun day and Lizzie for making sure I was fed and supplied with soft drinks all evening.

Emma and Neil

The Wedding of Emma and Neil at Corpus Christi Church, Bournemouth and the Orchid Hotel.

Emma and Neil’s Wedding started with a degree of concern. At the Wedding Rehearsal we had Snow and Ice and one Bridesmaid didn’t make it due to the weather.

Fortunately the following day, their Wedding Day the Snow and Ice had disappeared to be replaced by rain. At least we could use the roads !

I dropped off the second photographer with Emma who was staying at the reception venue, The Orchid Hotel. Then met the Groom at his Mum’s house. I was met with the gorgeous smell of a cooked breakfast. I was offered a breakfast but took the safe option of a lovely Bacon Sandwich and a mug of tea. (Didn’t want to get egg on my suit!)

We then headed off to the pub to meet up with more of the guests. Once the nerves were settled it was off to Corpus Christi Church.

Fortunately a gap in the rain allowed time for the Brides arrival.

After an enjoyable ceremony we proceeded to the Gardens for the customary group shots.

We all then departed the Church and made are way to the Orchid Hotel. The Orchid looked beautiful. The tables decorated and a Christmas Tree. We, as usual, took a number of Reportage shots whilst the Guests relaxed.  We had arranged with the owners to utilise their idyllic side room with a Chaise Lange and net curtains to set up our new format Photo Guestbook facility. So whilst the guests enjoyed the Wedding Breakfast we set to work.

The New format Photo Guestbook was a big hit with all. 85 shots approved and associated comments made in the book.

A wonderful day and our thanks to Emma and Neil for allowing us to be a part of it. Our Best Wishes to you both in your future together.

Clare and Renato

The Wedding of Clare and Renato at Christchurch Priory.

Clare did not want prep shots which gave me a relaxing late start. I met Renato and the guests outside Christchurch Priory on a gorgeous sunny day and proceeded to cover some of the Groom’s formal shots, Ring shots and of course our expected Wedding Reportage coverage.

Clare arrived on time which allowed me to take some further formal Bridal shots before she and her entourage entered the magnificent priory for the Ceremony. Due to movement and location restrictions I had to utilise our wireless remote facilities to take photos of the ceremony from the front of them but as ever this worked fine.

After the ceremony there followed the confetti shots and then a very enjoyable stroll from the Priory, past the river to the Boathouse Restaurant.  We had arranged to complete the group shots here as the owner provided top floor access allowing an excellent angle down onto the large group shot.

Although it was early October, the sun was out and the Authentic Spanish Music from the Andalus band made it feel like an evening in the Med. With a crazy Golf course and evening light it was superb. Even when the sun went in the Patio heaters on the Boathouse veranda banished the chill.

After the Wedding Breakfast and emotional speeches the disco started and the remainder of a lovely day was danced away.

My thanks to Clare and Renato for asking me to cover such a lovely day and all my best wishes to you both for your future together.

St Michaels, Verwood and Hamworthy Social Club Wedding

On a glorious Autumn day we started as usual with me introducing the Bride to the second photographer. I then made my way to St Michael and All Angels in Verwood to park the car before making my way on foot to the Monmouth Ash Pub to meet the Groom. After some Cokes we then set-off back to St Michaels to meet the guests and prepare for the Ceremony.

After the Ceremony and the ‘Signing the Register’ we proceeded to do an indoor Group shot as space at the church was a little tight, we then completed an extended list of small group shots in the grounds of the church.

The main body of the guests had departed on a coach for Hamworthy Social and so after some modelling shots with the car and the Bride and Groom we also departed using the ‘quick’ route whilst the Bridal car took the long route. Inevitably the Bridal car got to Hamworthy Social Club before us and so when we arrived the guests had already formed a Confetti ‘V’ and the Bride was waiting in the car ! We proceeded, very quickly, with the Confetti shots and then into an outdoors group shot.

We then reverted to Reportage mode until the speech’s and then, whilst the guests were eating backed up the days results so far.

After the Wedding Breakfast the Bride and Groom came out for some Bridal Portraiture in the warm evening light.

We then stayed for a very lively evening of dancing and merriment.

All our Best Wishes to Lisa-Anne and Steven for their future together.

Christchurch Priory and Christchurch Harbour Hotel

What a day this turned out to be !

It started as usual with me dropping off the female second photographer with the Bride at the Christchurch Harbour Hotel. I then set off to meet the groom at Mudeford Quay. Lovely day, lovely weather.

We then made our way to Christchurch Priory and waited for the remainder of the guests to arrive. Fortunately as we always do a recce, we knew the Vicar would not let photographers and Video staff stand in view of the couple so this also gave us some time to set up our remote control camera in a good vantage point.

The Bride was to travel in a Horse and Carriage. She and her father duly, arrived attracting considerable attention from the public. She looked stunning in her bridal gown with the black horse and carriage and the bright sunlight.  The Ceremony was very enjoyable with readings from the Bride, a Guest Guitarist and the Priory Choir. The Remote Controlled camera did a great job as well.

We then proceeded outside and found some shade for the group shots. As it was a small group we did the standards and some improvised extra’s but still completed on time.

The Bride and Groom then departed in the Horse and Carriage and everyone else made their way back to the Christchurch Harbour Hotel. After Champagne and Canopies on the Terrace the Guests settled down to the speeches and then the Wedding Breakfast.  We found a comfy, secluded couple of chairs and proceeded to do the backing up.

After the Wedding Breakfast the Bride and Groom were happy to spend 20 minutes or so doing Bridal Portraiture. The Bride amazed us all with her modelling abilities and with the warm sunset looked again superb.

There was then a Live Cabaret group, “Light and Shade”  with an excellent reportoire. We also set up a single light against the wall for some Photo Guest book shots. As usual we ended up with more people wanting group shots and our ‘set’ being too small.

After the First Dance we all went outside again to launch some Chinese Lanterns. There was a bit of breeze and inexperience in this task causing some interesting moments but all proceeded without serious incident and was very enjoyable.

An extremely memorable day. Wonderful guests and a great Bride and Groom.

Our thanks and best wishes for your future together go to Katy and Brad.
