What do you provide at an Event ?

Our typical Event or Party Photography setup is as follows:

Studio backdrop of 2.75m by 6m (Normally white but can provide a range of colours and even painted if preferred)

Four studio lights. Two for the backdrop for that clean look, one with a 'Beauty Dish'  for the most flattering, yet kind highlight and one light with either umbrella or softbox for a fill in light. (softens the shadows)

A number of Canon cameras. One plus back up for the studio. Others for Event reportage work.

Apple Laptops

Fast Dye Sub printer for immediate printing on high quality gloss paper. (Not ink jets)

WiFi Infrastructure for Cameras.

Two or more Photographers

Hard Drive backup for saving your images so that we can offer you the Web gallery after your event.

A Typical Photography Event

We would normally arrive 2 hours before your guests to set up the 'Studio'. We will then be ready to Photograph and print on demand as soon as your guests arrive.

Typically the early evening photos are standard portraits but as the evening progresses we provide a more relaxed environment. We have no restrictions on poses e.t.c. but are happy to provide guidance. If there is a pose that you or your guests want to try, just ask.

We also provide Reportage of your event where we would take in formal photos from around your event for future compilation onto your DVD and for marketing use if required.

We would normally stay until we have no further business ! latest has been 2.00am so far.

Do you do Photoshop editing ?

YES,

We can and do use Photoshop, but prefer to be selective on it's application i.e. we only use it if we think it will enhance the image.

We also use industry leading software tools from Nik Software. These include 'Silver Efex Pro' so that we can re-create those treasured mono-chrome images and 'Colour Efex pro' for those modern bleach by-pass and Glamour Glow looks.

If you  have a requirement let us know and we would be happy to discuss it's use. Please note that we take all photos in Full Colour RAW with no in camera processing. The effects are only added later in the office. This means we always have the original full resolution colour image if you decided that you preferred it another way.

Photoshop Effects

Do you offer Video ?

We do not offer a full video service but have provided 'static' coverage of the 'Ceremony only' for some couples. This can incur a charge from the Organist in some parish's due to a copyright issue, so you will need to check with your own venue for their charge if this service is required.

We have developed a 'Fusion' service where we take video clips from your day and then mix them with the Stills Photography and 'static' Ceremony Coverage to complete your DVD slideshow. We can also recommend Video companies who we have worked with successfully in the past and who offer a similar discreet approach.

A typical Wedding day.

A typical Wedding day starts with the arrival of my assistant and I at the Brides house (or place of preparation). After introductions I make a quick survey of the location with my assistant to verify preferred locations for some 'formal' shots. Once satisfied all is OK I depart leaving my assistant to cover the preparation and Bridal party departure formals. I make my way either to the Grooms place of preparation (if required) but normally to the venue. UK Grooms are rarely keen on prep shots!

At the venue I verify everything is as expected and then capture pre wedding shots from around the location. As guests start arriving I progress to 'people' shots and of course, am ready for the arrival of the Grooms party. Once everybody is settled I capture some informal group shots and await the arrival of the Bridal party.

The Bridesmaids arrive and then the Bride and Father, followed at a distance by my assistant (so she doesn't get in your shots) We cover the Bridal party and then take our positions for the Ceremony, Venue permitting. After the ceremony we give you some time to catch your breath before proceeding to the formals, if required. Normally a maximum of 30 mins on the formal's depending on your requirements.

The formals can be taken either at the Ceremony Location or at the Reception Location, if different. No hard and fast rules.

My assistant and I now merge into the background, concentrating on candid emotion and character shots. We continue in this mode until you sit down for the Wedding Breakfast. Once seated we leave you and your guests alone to enjoy the meal. Nobody looks good with a mouthful of food !

During your meal we backup up all the images taken so far to a Laptop and an external disk, ready for evening.

Meal completed and we recommence working ready for the speeches and cake cutting. We continue now, in the background through out your evening. This includes the first dance and quite a few more. Once we feel we have enough evening shots and/or we might be discouraging people from 'letting their hair down' we say goodbye and leave you to enjoy the remainder of your day.

If convenient to you we do like to take the Bride and Groom away from the guests for 30mins to 1 hour, so that we can do some posed shots. This is entirely optional, but we feel it add's some very special images to your selection.

This is of course a 'typical day' and every Wedding is different, so we are very flexible to your needs and stress the importance of our pre-wedding visit and chat.

See you soon

Good Luck
